Emerging Color Stamping Technique

Ok, I'll admit it...I really love stamping and the more I stamp the more I want to stamp. It's a wonderfully vicious circle. Emerging Color is one of those techniques that have some very basic and constant elements to it, but the creative license is all yours in how you present it. I'm sure if you Google or YouTube you will find a ton of tutorials and a lot of them will be very similar. Emerging Color boils down to this one word: resist. This is at its very core a resist technique. The whole trick to doing this is to remember that you will work in layers.

Welcome to Swilrydoos' September Kit Reveal Blog Hop

Welcome to our hop!!  If you came here from Larissa's Blog then you are on the right track.  If not, please go back to Swirlydoos and start from there.

Okay, I'll admit it.   I really loved working with this month's kit.  The colors and textures and goodies just really felt warm and inviting.

We just came back from our favorite campground.  It is an annual trek for us and I am always so sad to have to pack up and leave. There are a few photos from the trip that I really love and this is one of them.  I used a Classic Summer action from Photoshop on the picture.  It matches the paper so well!

I adore the little trinkets that came in the kit and the add ons.  I used one of the "light bulbs" to look more like a flower vase.  I added a few paper curls from my scraps and finished it off with a little gesso to distress my flowers.

This is another one of my favorite shots from camping.  I used some gesso and a white gelato to help the wings stand out a bit more.

I made the lilies and the ruffle flower by hand using the paper that came in the kit as well as from the card stock add on.

This page was created using this month's sketch that came with the kit.  My daughter had some blue streaks died into her hair and in case you couldn't tell, she hates it.  LOL  The picture doesn't do it justice.  It looks really cute on her and with going into middle school with braces on her teeth, I figured that if a little blue dye in her hair is going to be a confidence booster then what the heck.  It's only hair.

The first thing my daughter does when we get to camp is run down to the water, then she comes back and gets right to putting her hammock up between her 2 favorite trees.  What a life!

A zipper comes in the main kit and I decided to make a flower out of it and then for my flower center I used one of the zippers that came in one of our add ons.

I used some thin scrap strips from the kit and created this braid to help frame my photo.

Finally, I created a happy birthday card with some of my scraps and a bit from my stash. :)

Thank you so much for stopping by.
XO,
Lisa

Oh my, lot's of pretty things to look at this month! How did you make the zigzag photos mats in your first layout? The paper curls added a unique "twist", lol. The torn paper frame (you must do a tutorial for this) and gesso wings are gorgeous in the second layout. And who doesn't like blue streaks in their hair?... lol. I loved the braided paper too.
