Emerging Color Stamping Technique

Ok, I'll admit it...I really love stamping and the more I stamp the more I want to stamp. It's a wonderfully vicious circle. Emerging Color is one of those techniques that have some very basic and constant elements to it, but the creative license is all yours in how you present it. I'm sure if you Google or YouTube you will find a ton of tutorials and a lot of them will be very similar. Emerging Color boils down to this one word: resist. This is at its very core a resist technique. The whole trick to doing this is to remember that you will work in layers.

Swirlydoos & Once Upon A...Sketch

Swirlydoos has been the February Sponsor for Once Upon A...Sketch this entire month.  We have a lovely prize up for grabs!!

Here is the current sketch

I started off putting things together to create a page and then I was struck with the need to make a card. LOL  Has that ever happened to you?  Since the theme for this week's sketch has to do with holidays/vacations and travel I decided to make a card that, for me, embodies the idea of traveling; time well spent, exciting places, and remembering every drop of every moment.

My card sentiment is all about remembering every drop of where you are at that moment.  I used a Tattered Angels chipboard piece I had in my stash and misted it with Ranger's Blue Patina.

The sketch uses a clock.  I love clocks.  I know that I didn't have to use one, but I really wanted to and for the life of me couldn't find any in my stash (note to self LOL).  Then I remembered something.....I have some Core'dinations paper that has a clock on it!  BINGO!

I used my Silhouette to cut these cute file folders out and decided to use them as a way to open the card easier and let the tabs hang over the edge.  I added that cute paper clip and a postage stamp transparency and called it a day. :)

Make sure to head on over to Once Upon A...Sketch and check out the bi-weekly sketch challenges.  You won't be disappointed.

Thanks for stopping by!
XO, Lisa
