Emerging Color Stamping Technique

Ok, I'll admit it...I really love stamping and the more I stamp the more I want to stamp. It's a wonderfully vicious circle. Emerging Color is one of those techniques that have some very basic and constant elements to it, but the creative license is all yours in how you present it. I'm sure if you Google or YouTube you will find a ton of tutorials and a lot of them will be very similar. Emerging Color boils down to this one word: resist. This is at its very core a resist technique. The whole trick to doing this is to remember that you will work in layers.

Swirlydoos Kit Reveal & Blog Hop

Welcome to Swirlydoos' February

Blog Hop Block Party!!

Welcome to Swirlydoos February Kit Reveal Blog Hop BLOCK PARTY!!! If you came here from Lynne's blog, then you are on the right track.  If not, go back to Swirlydoos' blog and start from there.  We have some amazing projects for you to see today and as a bonus we have 2 manufacturer blogs that are joining in the fun!! There are 3 prize packs up for grabs so make sure to follow along and have fun!!

I really love the colors and warmth of this paper.  I ran a Vintage Summer Florabella action on my photo and it made everything feel like summer.  This page is based on the monthly sketch that came with the kit.

I made my own flowers using paper from the kit and some dies from Spellbinders.  We had some Kaisercraft pearl brads in the kit and I used those as my flower centers.  Then I added some pearls to dress them up a bit.
I fussy cut one of the green butterflies from this paper.  It was going to end up hidden by my picture, so I fussy cut it out and then photo copied it so I could have a matching pair.  I dressed them up with some Patina Stickles.  I also fussy cut a few gorgeous green flowers from one of the K&Company papers.  I fussy cut the scalloped-lacey edge off of a die cut paper and used it to dress up my circle.

Ummm, yup....I really love this paper from FabScraps.  The torn paper exposing wood is so pretty.  I grabbed this photo during a camping trip last year.  My DD was waiting for her friends to arrive for the weekend.

I used my one of my favorite templates with molding paste.  While the paste was still wet I dusted it with fairy dust glitter and then pushed some glass beads into it in places.    After it dried I sprayed above them with some mist and then used a paint brush and dipped it into the mist to to paint my wings.

I used the stamp that came with the main kit and embossed the edge of my photo.

I love pictures of little piggies!  This was taken a few years back, and it is one of my favorite pictures.  Always brings a smile to my face.

I added some fabric to my page, but first I put some multi medium on it to help stiffen it.  Then, just before it dried I crinkled it up in places and used my heat gun to shrink the fabric in other places.

I made this large flower using Clearly for Art film.  We got some in our Technique kits.  This stuff is so cool!  I used my tattered florals die and heated the petals until they had the shape I was looking for.  I used a paint brush and Liquid Pearls as well as some glitter to dress it up.

Thank you so much for stopping by today.  I appreciate your visit more than you know.

XO, Lisa

You have until midnight, eastern time, on February 10th to complete the hop. Winners will be announced on the Swirlydoos Blog on February 11th.  In order to qualify to win here is what you need to do:
1: Visit all of the blogs and leave a comment on each. This way we know you were there. Become a follower if you're not already. Take your time. There are beautiful things to see along the way.
2: Before you leave each blog, look for the “special” words and write it down.
Once you have visited all the blogs and collected all the special words, they will create a sentence.
3: Finally, go back to the Swirlydoos blog and leave a comment letting us know how much fun you had AND tell us the sentence that was created with all of the special words you collected.

My special word is : "mistake"

The party continues over at Kaisercraft's blog.  Have fun!
