Emerging Color Stamping Technique

Ok, I'll admit it...I really love stamping and the more I stamp the more I want to stamp. It's a wonderfully vicious circle. Emerging Color is one of those techniques that have some very basic and constant elements to it, but the creative license is all yours in how you present it. I'm sure if you Google or YouTube you will find a ton of tutorials and a lot of them will be very similar. Emerging Color boils down to this one word: resist. This is at its very core a resist technique. The whole trick to doing this is to remember that you will work in layers.

Swirlydoos October Reveal - Midnight Waltz

Welcome to Swirlydoos' Midnight Waltz.

This kit is chock full of Glitz and Kaisercraft papers and I LOVE the deep, rich colors. This kit let me get run the gamut of visual emotion; I went from dark & moody, to vintage shabby, to bright and sunny.  Awesome!

This is a close up shot of my DD while she was on a bungee ride.  She didn't jump from a high height; instead she was on a trampoline and the bungees were set up with hydraulics.  She managed to get pretty high and I snapped this shot while she was doing some flips.  I love the motion you get from her hair.

We got a pack of Glitz's Vintage Blue transparencies in our Embellishment Add On kit.  I am really digging those things!  LOL  I decided to place one over the top of my photo that I had matted on punched, white paper.  I really like the way it looks.

I used a stencil and molding paste to add the white flowers that you see underneath that HUGE flower from ZVA!  Gorgeous!

My DD is Little Red Riding Hood for Halloween this year.  Her costume is gorgeous.  Our final camping weekend for the season every year ends with the Halloween Bash weekend.  Kids go trick or treating around to all the camps, there is a haunted hayride and haunted corn stalk maze, dracula spinning tunes under the star and lots of fun all around.  My DD agreed to do a photo shoot for me before all of the festivities started.  Too cute!

I created a tag and used one of the Glitz transparencies to help dress it up.

This is my month to do the Anatomy of a layout with the kit.  This page is made entirely with contents from the main kit only.  I have provided a step-by-step break down of how I built this page on the Swirlydoos forum.

This is a close up of my kiddo during the photo shoot.  The eyes are the window to the soul and I think her's is beautiful.

Love those resin pieces from prima!

I made those big flowers using 2 sheets of the Glitz Paper Layers that were in the kit.  I used two smaller flowers for the centers.

This is for the kit sketch.  I used a combination of the project kit and embellishment kit for this page.  I scrapped this photo a few years ago.  It is one of my favorites.  We were visiting the Outer Banks in North Carolina and my daughter and her cousin were running down a boardwalk to get to the beach.  I just loved the way the light was casting shadows.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Our November kit is set to reveal on 11/5 and we will be having a blog hop and a Guest Design Team member, Natasha Naranjo Aguirre!!! Make sure to stop by and join in on the hop.

XO, Lisa
