Emerging Color Stamping Technique

Ok, I'll admit it...I really love stamping and the more I stamp the more I want to stamp. It's a wonderfully vicious circle. Emerging Color is one of those techniques that have some very basic and constant elements to it, but the creative license is all yours in how you present it. I'm sure if you Google or YouTube you will find a ton of tutorials and a lot of them will be very similar. Emerging Color boils down to this one word: resist. This is at its very core a resist technique. The whole trick to doing this is to remember that you will work in layers.

This is a page I created for this month's kit sketch.  I used a picture of my DH's grandmother.  This picture was taken 101 years ago in 1912.  Crazy, huh?
Here is the sketch.  It is an oldie but a goodie!

I added some stamping and liquid pearls along with some pop dots to give my page dimension.

This is a photo of my DD at one of her piano recitals.  I really love it.  I used a piece of the coordinated card stock  in this month's add on.  I stamped around the edge and then added some additional stamping to the patterned paper over the top of it.  I really love to use string pearls whenever I can.  I think they add a touch of romance.

I used the resin piece that came in one of our add ons and fussy cut some pf the patterned paper with use with in the frame and then embellished it with pearls.

This is an older photo of my DD when we were at the park ice skating.  We had a good time that morning.  I used some of the coordinating card stock and my Cameo to cut out the large snowflakes and flowers.  I used some of the "punched-out" dots from the snowflakes on my page as well and and added glossy accents to the top of them to make them look wet and give them dimension.

The coordinating card stock is Core'dinations.  I decided to sand my flower layers to give them some texture and visual interest.

I cut out this faux magazine cover from the patterned paper and covered it in 3 layers of UTEE and then cracked it to give it a cracked glass look.

Our paper came with a page for each month of the year that was packed with mini pictures and tags.  Makes it easy to make cards.

This is a card I made for a friend of ours that just got her PhD.  Her name is Andrea and we decided to start calling her Dr. Dre.  LOL  There was a party for her this past Saturday and this is the card that I made for her.

Thank you for stopping by and for supporting the Swirlydoos' designers and kits!!  I appreciate your comments!!
