Emerging Color Stamping Technique

Ok, I'll admit it...I really love stamping and the more I stamp the more I want to stamp. It's a wonderfully vicious circle. Emerging Color is one of those techniques that have some very basic and constant elements to it, but the creative license is all yours in how you present it. I'm sure if you Google or YouTube you will find a ton of tutorials and a lot of them will be very similar. Emerging Color boils down to this one word: resist. This is at its very core a resist technique. The whole trick to doing this is to remember that you will work in layers.

If you came here from the uber talented blog of Miss Heidi Kelley, then you are on the right track.  If not, please head back to Swirlydoos and start from there!!

I decided to try something different and change up my style a bit with this month's kit.  I see a lot of bits and pieces of other artist's work that I really love and I decided to just give it a shot.  For me, that is how I grow in my craft' by trying new things and going outside of my comfort zone.

I didn't go completely out of my zone, but enough that I got to use some muscles that I don't normally use.  LOL

This next layout I created using this month's sketch.

I took a 4x6 photo and just cut it up into random sized pieces and then placed them on my page.  Some of the pieces could be considered "in order", while others I shuffled around.  I also placed pop dots behind a few of them to give them some dimension.

Our kit came with a great set of stamps and I decided to use it on this page and then embellish it with some of the pearls that came in our Embellishment Add On kit.

I like to rip my paper.  So I decided to create this page using lots of ripped paper and some layers.

Thank you for stopping by!  I really appreciate your support and comments.

You have so many great ideas Lisa--can't wait to lift a few! I particularly liked the layout with the ripped papers and the bare edges. I've been inking edges so long that the white edges really looked refreshing!
