Emerging Color Stamping Technique

Ok, I'll admit it...I really love stamping and the more I stamp the more I want to stamp. It's a wonderfully vicious circle. Emerging Color is one of those techniques that have some very basic and constant elements to it, but the creative license is all yours in how you present it. I'm sure if you Google or YouTube you will find a ton of tutorials and a lot of them will be very similar. Emerging Color boils down to this one word: resist. This is at its very core a resist technique. The whole trick to doing this is to remember that you will work in layers.

Swirlydoos Blog Hop!!!!

Welcome to Swirlydoos' Blog Hop
 and November Kit reveal!!!

If you came here from Angelica's blog, then you are on the right track.  If not, go back to Swirlydoos' blog and start from there.  We have some amazing projects for you to see today !!  Also, as an extra special twist, 2 of our designers are hiding secret prizes on their blogs!!!!!  Make sure to leave a comment on all of the blogs for a chance to win!!!  Check out Swirlydoos on Facebook and Like Us!!!

Say hellooooooo gorgeous to Nouveau.

Quantities are limited!!  Click on the link below to snag you a kit before they are all gone!!!

This first page is based on this month's kit sketch.  I LOVED the fact that the main kit came with Silk Acrylic Glaze.  I made sure to use that quite a bit with my pages.  I also used some of the mist spray that came in one of our Add On kits.  Isn't it pretty?   Here is the sketch.

Our main kit included a piece of Dusty Attic.  I decided to have some fun with it.   I painted the entire thing with some white acrylic paint as a primer.  Then I punched out the center of the frame and ran it through my Cuttlebug to emboss it.  After that I used a paint brush and dry-brushed the Silk Acrylic Glaze over it.  I added some Vintage Photo ink in places and then embellished it with Liquid Pearls.  We received a bottle of that in the kit too!  I finished it off by adding a Prima wooden clock face and finished it off with some bling in the center!  I'm really happy with how it turned out.

I love love love that rose ribbon at the top of my page.  I almost didn't use it!!  I wanted to hoard it.  LOL  I decided to work in a few of Pink Paislee's Mistable tags onto my page and I used the mist and acrylic glazes that are available this month.  Our technique kit as a small jar of molding paste in it so I decided to use some on this page along with some of the rub ons from the main kit.

Lisa Gregory posted a tutorial in the Swirlydoos Forum a while back that showed how to make medallions using your corner punches.  I decided to give it a whirl and try to make them using only my memory.  I think they came out fairly well.

Finally, I decided to make a card using some of the pieces-parts left over from my projects.

Thanks a TON for stopping by today!!!  I really appreciate your comments and support. :)

You have until midnight, eastern time, on Wednesday, 11/14 to complete the hop. Winners will be announced on the Swirlydoos Blog on Thursday 11/15.  In order to qualify to win here is what you need to do:

I think it's funny that you wanted to hoard the lace, we're like that aren't we. Love the stuff we have but it's so beautiful sometimes it's hard to actually use it. So glad you did it was perfect on your page. I think your medallions turned out super, I'm going to be checking that tutorial out to see how to make them.
