Emerging Color Stamping Technique

Ok, I'll admit it...I really love stamping and the more I stamp the more I want to stamp. It's a wonderfully vicious circle. Emerging Color is one of those techniques that have some very basic and constant elements to it, but the creative license is all yours in how you present it. I'm sure if you Google or YouTube you will find a ton of tutorials and a lot of them will be very similar. Emerging Color boils down to this one word: resist. This is at its very core a resist technique. The whole trick to doing this is to remember that you will work in layers.

Swirlydoos So Chic! May kit reveal and blog hop!!

Welcome to Swirlydoos' May Kit Reveal Blog Hop Block Party!!

If you came here from Donna Salazar's rockin' blog, then you are on the right track.  If not, go back to Swirlydoos' blog and start from there.

We have some amazing projects for you to see today and as a bonus we have 2 special guests joining in the fun and offering a prize!! There are 5 prize packs up for grabs so make sure to follow along and have fun!!  Also, since May is National Scrapbook month, we are saving some of our projects and will be revealing them all month long.  Make sure to come back and check our Design Team's blogs to see their wonderful work!!

This month's kit is smokin'!  First, I love this paper line from Donna Salazar, and those metal frame corners from Teresa Collins are TO DIE FOR!!!

I took an extreme close-up picture of my daughter a few years ago while we were camping.  She was swimming in the lake.  I adore this photo.  I had this idea in my head of a page I wanted to do for this photo and have just been waiting for the right paper to come along.  I decided to only have some of the photo peeking out from behind the paper.  The eyes are the window to the soul.

I used my Cameo and a sheet of the coordinated card stock from this month's add on to cut a window.  Love this heart stamp!  I stamped it onto some card stock and then used some of my newest, most favorite embossing powder.  It is called Shabby Pink and up close it IS shabby-licious with flecks of gold and chunkiness!

I used one of my favorite stencils and my beloved molding paste to create the wings.  Once they hardened I added some white paint to them to give them some definition and airiness. I seriously want a truck load of those metal corners from Teresa Collins.  They are yummy!!

I've scrapped this photo before, but I just love it so I had to scrap it again. The buttons that came in the kit just seemed to scream vintage to me and I think they go so well with my photo.  So I built my page around them.  Love the lace borders from EK Success.  Our Embellishment Add On had a pack of these lace borders in it  I'm a sucker for lace.

Aren't those pink crystals delish?!  These came in our Embellishment Add On.  I added them around one of the Kaisercraft flowers that came in the Flower Add On. YUMMMMM

I used a sheet of paper from our main kit and Donna Salazar's Rose Creations Spellbinders dies to add some size to those Kaisercraft roses.  I took the smaller die cuts and added buttons, from the main kit, as flower centers.  I cut the leaves from the coordinating card stock using the Rose Creations dies as well.   The metal cabochon is from Teresa Collins. :)

I will be revealing more projects throughout the month.  I hope you stop back!!!  Thank you for coming by today!

XOXOXO

You have until midnight, eastern time, on Monday, May 7th to complete the hop. Winners will be announced on the Swirlydoos Blog on May 8th.  In order to qualify to win here is what you need to do:
1: Visit all of the blogs and leave a comment on each. This way we know you were there. Become a follower if you're not already. Take your time. There are REALLY beautiful things to see along the way.
