Emerging Color Stamping Technique

Ok, I'll admit it...I really love stamping and the more I stamp the more I want to stamp. It's a wonderfully vicious circle. Emerging Color is one of those techniques that have some very basic and constant elements to it, but the creative license is all yours in how you present it. I'm sure if you Google or YouTube you will find a ton of tutorials and a lot of them will be very similar. Emerging Color boils down to this one word: resist. This is at its very core a resist technique. The whole trick to doing this is to remember that you will work in layers.

Welcome to Swirlydoos' April Kit Reveal Blog Hop!!

WELCOME!!!
If you came here from Irene's blog, then you are on the right track.  If not, go back to Swirlydoos' blog and start from there.  We have some amazing projects for you to see today and as a bonus we have Petaloo joining in the fun and offering a prize!! There are 2 prize packs up for grabs so make sure to follow along and have fun!!

This page is based on the monthly sketch that the gorgeous and talented Beggahuna creates for each of our kits.

I especially love the soft pinks in this paper.  I'm not generally one who gravitates to pinks and pastels, but I really like this paper.

I used one of my mooost favorite paper distressing techniques, fire.  I also used the Prima stamp that came in the kit.  I used up all of that pink cord to lace my circle.  I love the way it came out but found myself wishing I had more of it.  Isn't that little door knocker awesome?!  It came in the kit too!

This is really a different page for me.  Notice the lack of flora on the page?  LOL  I'm still not sure it is finished. LOL  I had fun with my Silhouette and cut some fun banners and those great die cuts. Our kit included some Prima Chipboard pieces as well as that gold chain with the pearls.  I had a hard time deciding whether to put the chain on my page or make a piece of jewelry with it!

I used a strip of paper to create a cute ruffle.

Here is a card I created for our SwirlyHues challenge.  Our next challenge debuts tomorrow and it is for ANYONE including non-kit subscribers!!!  Stop by the Swirlydoos blog tomorrow and check it out!!

Since Paulien is our SwirlyHues hostess this month I decided that I would create a card and try to lift her incredible shabby style.

Here is the envelope for my card.

This month's tech kit is MIND BLOWING!!  Literally stuffed full with Prima's Resist Canvas and mini book pages.  OMGosh!

I went a little bit overboard with the cover.  A while back I took a She Art class and have also been following Julie Nutting's Collage Couture.  There is something so fun about creating paper dolls.  This is a girl I designed completely on my own.  I will be posting the drawing over at Swirlydoos for all those who wish to give it a try. :)  I used a combination of mists, kit paper and paint to create my background.  I used kit paper and paint to create my girl and her dress.  LOVE the metal birdcage.  A pack of 3 came in the tech kit.

This is the first page when you open my canvas book.  Krissy put this awesome metal hinge in the tech kit and I decided that I would cut my first page and make it a gate fold.  I punched holes along the right side so that I could attach the right side of my page to the next paper and used twine to bind it. Open the hinge and fold open the pages to reveal the next page.

This is the inside of my first page.  There has to be at least 20 more pages of resist canvas, heavy card stock, tags, cellophane pockets and patterned paper pages left BEHIND this page that still need to be loved.  I'm gonna be a busy girl.  What an awesome tech kit.  You rocked it Krissy!!

Thank you so very much  for stopping by!!!

You have until midnight, eastern time, on April 11th to complete the hop. Winners will be announced on the Swirlydoos Blog on April 12th.  In order to qualify to win here is what you need to do:

1: Visit all of the blogs and leave a comment on each. This way we know you were there. Become a follower if you're not already. Take your time. There are beautiful things to see along the way.

2: Before you leave each blog, look for the “special” words and write it down.
Once you have visited all the blogs and collected all the special words, they will create a QUESTION.

3: Finally, go back to the Swirlydoos blog and leave a comment letting us know how much fun you had AND tell us the QUESTION that was created with all of the special words you collected AND GIVE US YOUR ANSWERS.

My special word is "KIT"
