Emerging Color Stamping Technique

Ok, I'll admit it...I really love stamping and the more I stamp the more I want to stamp. It's a wonderfully vicious circle. Emerging Color is one of those techniques that have some very basic and constant elements to it, but the creative license is all yours in how you present it. I'm sure if you Google or YouTube you will find a ton of tutorials and a lot of them will be very similar. Emerging Color boils down to this one word: resist. This is at its very core a resist technique. The whole trick to doing this is to remember that you will work in layers.

These Days - Canvas & Video Tutorials

Hey everyone~  I wanted to share with you a canvas I created using Swirlydoos' March kit, French Quarter.  I get a LOT of requests to do a tutorial on a canvas.  I also hear from a lot of people that they are a bit scared to jump in with both feet.

Sooooooo, I decided I would make this canvas a kind of "101".  I've used 99% paper, but I added a few other mixed media elements in small amounts.  I want those of you that have been a bit apprehensive, to watch these videos and KNOW that you CAN do this.  My next video will be more canvas and mixed media work and less paper.  I'll help you to work towards playing with different mediums and accessorizing with paper, rather than the other way around.

All of the videos posted below can be found on the Swirlydooskits Channel on YouTube.

Here are a few pictures of my canvas.

I also finished a 2nd canvas.  This was part of a Swirlydoos Technique kit a few months ago.  I created them together because I wanted them to look
like a matching set.

Here are the videos showing you how I made my canvas.  Enjoy!!
