Emerging Color Stamping Technique

Ok, I'll admit it...I really love stamping and the more I stamp the more I want to stamp. It's a wonderfully vicious circle. Emerging Color is one of those techniques that have some very basic and constant elements to it, but the creative license is all yours in how you present it. I'm sure if you Google or YouTube you will find a ton of tutorials and a lot of them will be very similar. Emerging Color boils down to this one word: resist. This is at its very core a resist technique. The whole trick to doing this is to remember that you will work in layers.

Swirlydoos December Kit Reveal Blog Hop

Welcome to Swirlydoos December Kit Reveal Blog Hop BLOCK PARTY!!! We are having a party and you are all invited. If you came here from Bo Bunny's Blog then you are on the right track. If not, go back to Swirlydoo's blog and pick up the trail from there. We have some amazing projects for you to see today and as a bonus we have 3 manufacturer blogs that are joining in the fun!! There are 5 prize packs up for grabs so make sure to follow along and have fun!!

I loooooooove Christmas at Swirlydoos!!!  Krissy really knows how to put a kit together that embodies all of the bling, sparkle and warmth of this truly magical season.  Our main kit and add on kits were full of Bo Bunny, G45, Petaloo, TPC Studios, Ranger products, Prima, May Arts......OMG the list just goes on and on and on.

This is a page I call  Christmas' Past and I created it for this month's SwirlyHues contest that will be unveiling on our blog on the 17th.  This is my DD.  She wasn't quite 1.  Time goes by so quickly.

I used card stock from the add on to create the majority of this page.  I stamped and embossed around the edges, stamped the music notes and punched a lace edge.  I also dry embossed one of the Christmas trees and added in some of my most favorite berries from Petaloo.  I'm really having a love affair with that gorgeous fabric trim with the bling.

Working with this kit was like making a timeline.  I went through my piles of photos and found myself just smiling at each of her Christmas pictures.  Makes me wish for some of those days back and at the same time makes me excited to think about the next new experience as she gets older.  *sigh*  Anywho, this is the kiddo when she was 3.  Little Miss Thing!!  Ain't she all that and a bag of chips?!  LOL  She is working it in this photo and the song Santa Baby just really seems to fit.

I was kind of going for a wrapped package look with this.  I had fun curling the paper like I would ribbon.  I painted and glittered-up a few Dusty Attic snowflakes.

I took a bit of time working with this acrylic ornament.  First I took a piece of paper from G45's Christmas Emporium and scanned it.  Then I copied it onto a transparency in black and white. I used glossy accents to adhere it to the acrylic.  I needed to give it a background so I trimmed some patterned paper and placed it behind the transparency.  Then I used a stamp and embossing powder to create the flourish.  I finished it off by adding some stickles around the edge, added some pearls from the Bling Me Baby add on and the metal reindeer from the embellishment add on.

This page was created for the sketch.  My sketches always take on a life of their own. This is my kiddo when she was in kindergarten.  We went to the local mall where they have an indoor, antique carousel and I took our Christmas pictures there.  She has always loved carousels, and probably always will.

This is another acrylic ornament from the kit.  I used Cranberry Alcohol Ink to give it that great red color.  Then I dry embossed the swirls on to it and went one step further and heat embossed the swirls with white and glittery embossing powder.  I added some gold stickles to give it a top and dressed it up with a ribbon and some flowers.

Here is a card I made.  I fussy cut the mini music sheet from the G45 paper and added some molding paste with my finger to create a snowy effect.  While the paste was still wet I sprinkled on some glitter.

This month's project kit contained this awesome acrylic stocking from Clear Scraps and everything you see here except for that metal Santa embellishment; that is from the main kit.  I really had a lot of fun making this.

It is kind of hard to see, but that big blue snowflake is also acrylic.  There were 3 in the kit.  I used Pearl and Stream alcohol ink to give them their color.  Then I cut, heated and bent the top one to create a snowflake flower.  I glued it to the bottom one and added a poinsettia in the center.  I finished them off by adding some pearls from the kit on each tip.

I stamped a Christmas sentiment and added molding paste and glitter to give it a snowy look.

After inking and then adhering this gorgeous paper to the back side of the acrylic, I used some white rub ons from my stash that look like stitching.  I added another snowflake flower cluster near the bottom and fussy cut out a ticket.

Thank you sooooo much for stopping by.  I wish you and your family a safe and happy holiday season.  X's & O's!!!!

You have until midnight, eastern time, on December 16th to complete the hop. In order to qualify to win here is what you need to do:
