Emerging Color Stamping Technique

Ok, I'll admit it...I really love stamping and the more I stamp the more I want to stamp. It's a wonderfully vicious circle. Emerging Color is one of those techniques that have some very basic and constant elements to it, but the creative license is all yours in how you present it. I'm sure if you Google or YouTube you will find a ton of tutorials and a lot of them will be very similar. Emerging Color boils down to this one word: resist. This is at its very core a resist technique. The whole trick to doing this is to remember that you will work in layers.

Swirlydoos July Kit Reveal and Blog Hop!!

Welcome to Swirlydoos July Kit Reveal Blog Hop!!!
If you've arrived here from Paulien's blog, then you are on the right track! If you are one of my regular followers then head on over to the Swirlydoos Blog and join in the fun!

This month's kit is so beautiful.  It features Pink Paislee, Graphic 45 and Kaiser Craft.  The Technique Add On kit was jam packed with Petaloo Color Me Crazy blooms.

This is a photo of my DD from a few years back.  We were at the Renaissance Faire and she was dressed like a princess and had this cute little unicorn painted on her face.  It was such a magical day and this paper was just perfect!  I used the Sizzix Rosette die to create the ruffle around the edge and then inked it up to give it some dimension.

I used Lindy's Stamp Gang Magical Mica in Cosmopolitan Pink.  Then I used some Shimmerz in dark pink and embossed them with Bridal Embossing Powder.  They are so pretty and delicate in person.
This flower ribbon is also part of the Color Me Crazy line.  They remind me of sunflowers.  I misted these with Vintage Pink, Yellow and Spring Green.

These letters are also from the Color Me Crazy collection.  I misted them in two shades of green, then used Bridal embossing Powder, and finally stamped over them using the Pink Paislee stamps from the kit in a darker green.

This page is a combination of 2 sketches; one is from Stuck on You Sketches and the other is a sketch by Beggahuna.  The picture is my DD during her recent yellow belt test in Karate.  She looks so....focused.  LOL   I used cream card stock from the add on kit and used my favorite verse stamp and then inked it up using Vintage Photo.  I used the border from one of the G45 pages in the kit to create a border around my photo.

I was never really one for banners, but every once in a while they just seem to work.  I used one of the stamps and the pink bling from the kit to create these banner flags.

I just LOVE this flower ribbon from Petaloo!!  I cut out one of the flowers so that I could use it on its own.  I once again used Cosmopolitan Pink mica to add a little blush to the center.
This is for Beggahuna's sketch that came with the kit.  My DD just had her spring piano recital and I managed to get these while she was playing.  One of the songs she was playing is the theme song from Peanuts; Linus & Lucy.  No matter how hard I try, I can't keep myself from bopping around when she plays it.  I used one of the stamps that came in the kit by Pink Paislee and went around the cut out in my paper.

This is based on a sketch from Creative Scrappers.  It is their sketch #155.  This page features more of the Color Mr Crazy blooms and I used A Bit O'Bubbly mica on these.  I really like that little stamp.  It says "a friend walks in when everyone else walks out."  The photo is my DD (on the right) and her BFF on the left.  We were out in the woods participating in a Girl Scout event.

This is another canvas I did using this month's kit.  I am bound and determined to get good at doing these!

I made this for my DD's piano teacher.  Her DH is a Minister at a local church and my DD loves her to pieces.  God certainly puts people in your life for a reason and this woman is so warm and gentle and encourages my DD so much.  She is also a great listener!!
