This is my favorite page with this kit. I really enjoyed putting it together. I played with fire. One of my fave distressing techniques. I burned the edges of the paper. Then I fussy cut a thick border line from around each of the globe maps on the paper and took the small strip and flipped it over and used it as an accent piece around the maps. I also placed back card stock behind as an accent. I added drippy globs (yes, that is a technical term) LOL using the Olive Vine Silk Acrylic Glaze that came in the kit.
I fussy cut images from some of the other paper in the kit. I used some of the foil tape that came in the kit to create a frame and using my finger and a metal embossing plate, I embossed the the tape. I applied some black paint to a paper towel and lightly swiped it across the embossed foil to give it age and dimension. I finished off my "picture" by using some liquid pearls to highlight the flowers and leaves.
This page was created for our monthly kit sketch. Here is the sketch:
I used the stencil and black gesso that came in our embellishment add on to create the damask images on the paper. Then I used Ranger's Green Patina mist over the top.
I used kit paper and the foil tape to create my sunflower. I added some paint to the foil tape to make my flower pop just a little. I finished it off by adding a button embellishment from Petaloo as a flower center.
I had a lot of fun matching the hue in my photographs with the paper. This is one of my fave photos from a few years back and it really goes well with the paper. I used some white gesso on the edges as well as white paint and a honeycomb mask.
I added some white gesso to my flowers and some blingy rhinestones to my metal pieces.
I had fun creating the dashes around the main focal points of my page using a white marker. I used a butterfly punch and some kit paper along with some of the trim that came in the kit to create my butterflies.
